Phoebe Kendall is just your typical Goth girl with a crush. He's strong and silent...and dead. All over the country, a strange phenomenon is occurring. Some teenagers who die aren't staying dead. But when they come back to life, they are no longer the same. Feared and misunderstood, they are doing their best to blend into a society that doesn't want them.
The administration at Oakvale High attempts to be more welcoming of the "differently biotic." But the students don't want to take classes or eat in the cafeteria next to someone who isn't breathing. And there are no laws that exist to protect the "living impaired" from the people who want them to disappear--for good.
When Phoebe falls for Tommy Williams, the leader of the dead kids, no one can believe it; not her best friend, Margi, and especially not her neighbor, Adam, the star of the football team. Adam has feelings for Phoebe that run much deeper than just friendship; he would do anything for her. But what if protecting Tommy is the one thing that would make her happy?
For all you zombie fans, at first I didn't understand what you guys saw in these gray people who are aren't really dead or alive, who's speech and movent is slower then the average joe, but when reading novels about them I have had an open mind and guess what?? I'm like them don't love em but im starting to warm up to them. Yet another character of "like"s I'm adding to my paranormal list. (By the way if you guys have any recomendations on good zombie books let me know). So on to the book, Characters... I like Adam's character the jock who isn't your average jock because he's changed and doesn't date whatsherface anymore, but would do anything for Phoebee. Another one of my favorite characters is over dramatic Margi who is over the top in everything from emotions to looks (pink spikey hair can you blame her). The characters in Generation Dead are extreme and very weird, some fun to love, and others very easy to hate. The general plot I must say is very unexpected I thought something completely different was going on, so for the first time don't expect the unexpected (focus on the task at hand). Ok the other problem I had with the book was the names I kept confusing people (not the main character but the others) for example I thought TC and Stavis were 2 different people not the same because the narrator in calls him Stavis and sometimes TC and Pete calls him by his last name!! Anyways other then that the book had me going from beginning til end! By this novel has a some what cliffhanger ending I still don't know how I feel on it.
Next the Cover totally dig it very eye catching and I'm guessing it's Karen or presume to be her. I liked this novel in a total package. I think Daniel Waters has a unique way of writing and I will definitely be buying Generation Dead Kiss of Life, and Passing Strange also seems totally cool and a Wishlist. So if you like Zombies, a Romeo and Juliet love story, and young adult paranormal fiction this is a good book to look into.
I Would Personally Rate this Book:.5
P.S. hey guys before leaving don't forget to leave me some love, also and or a recommendation of good zombie books.
