Teaser Tuesdays (14) Divine By Mistake By: P.C. Cast.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

·          Grab your current read

·         Open to a random page

·         Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

·         BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they  like your teaser.

My Teasers:
"His eyes held mine--they sparkled with his own, decidedly more personal, form of adoration. He lifted my hand to his lips and kissed first my palm, then the pulse point at my wrist."

~ Pg. 382, "Divine by Mistake" By: P.C. Cast

A Great Terrible Beauty By: Libba Bray Book Review

It's 1895, and after the suicide of her mother, 16-year-old Gemma Doyle is shipped off from the life she knows in India to Spence, a proper boarding school in England. Lonely, guilt-ridden, and prone to visions of the future that have an uncomfortable habit of coming true, Gemma''s reception there is a chilly one. To make things worse, she''s been followed by a mysterious young Indian man, a man sent to watch her. But why? What is her destiny? And what will her entanglement with Spence's most powerful girls--and their foray into the spiritual world--lead to? (Summary Thanks to Chapters Indigo)

I was very excited to read this book my roommate said it was awesome kind of a Harry Potter, but different. I don't understand where she got that from... This book was totally different not what I thought it would be. This book was above and beyond what I could have expected, this book captivated me from start to finish, could not put it down.

I recently became fond of Victorian novels, this was a good addiction to the genre. As some of you know I adore a good Witch novel!! This book was not a Witch per say, but witch craft definitely. Character were really believable there was a point where I think I shed a tear. The characters were well thought out and deep but still that mystery that kept us guessing and wanting more.  I adore how there are elements of fiction and paranormal aspects but then again their are real life issues and how womens view of what they should live for (at the point in time in the 1800's). I adore the diary it's an awesome touch to the plot. I don't want to ruin anything just because the book tie's in nicely. So I kept this short and sweet.

Overall this is a must read. Ohh and I love the beginig of maybe a romeo and juliet love story. Rebel Angels here I come.

I would Personally Rate this Book:

5

Read-A-Thon!!! Sunny with no chance of Showers!! :)

So it's yet another Sunny day in Toronto and another bonus is that tomorrow I do not have to work as in Canada we are Celebrating Victoria Day (LONG WEEKEND). So what better to do on 2 free days!! Yep thats right a read-a-thon. The reason for this is that I am so far behind in my books and TBR pile is growing by the day I think I have over 60 on it!! So it's Sunny so I will start my reading outside :) I will be back every 3 hours to report on how I'm doing!! If you have twitter then follow my tweets @MidnightGlance. So my family has abandoned my house so I have it all to my Self. So heres the deal:

So the read-a-thon will be 2 days!!
My Goal is around 4 books its low but I would love to do 6!! We will see how the 2 days go!

Books that I would love to Finish in this Read-A-Thon are:

1. Divine by Mistake by: P.C. Cast (Pg. 100) as of  Day 1 at 9:00pm Page 350 (I wanted more!)
2. The Lightning Thief by: Rick Riordan Day 2 at 3:00 pm Completed
3. My Soul to Take by: Rachel Vincent
4. Moonlight by: Rachel Hawthrone Day 2 at 12:00 am Completed
5. Hexhall by: Rachel Hawkins
6. Wake By: Lisa McMann

Another heads up is that since Divine by Mistake is 500+ pages my goal is to reach at least 300 :) then I move on to the next!! Oh yeah also the update will happen every 3 hours they will be in Red <-- like this :)

So thats the list I call it the New Beginnings just because these are the first in series, I will also be having a whole week long Read-A-Thon second week of June and that one will be my Sequels (I have started plenty of series and have yet to complete them). Since its my forced Vacation week (I have an extra week that I haven't planned to do anything on so they at work planned it for me and booked it too)

SOOOO wish me luck!! Let the reading Begin!! I'm off to sit in the sun!!

Happy Reading

Shiver By: Maggie Stiefvater Book Review

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human ... until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever. (Summary Thanks to GoodRead)

I have to say sorry to my fellow bloggers for ever doubting that I would like this book, even be addicted. But the truth is I Kelly am Addicted. Now that, thats off my shoulders lets get on to the review for this book.

Maggie Stiefvater has such smooth writing and the story is every easy to follow but the truth is that this novel is a Romance and mostly that. It being a Romance is actually one reason I was very unsure of reading it, because for the last year or so I have been on Strike for Romance and Chic Lit, but lately I have let some books slip in. This book is a must read for those of you who like Werewolves, and Romance Novels.

The characters were nicely chosen, very believable like this storyline and character could be the girl or boy beside you on the bus (that is if you live near forest, I know I personally don't). The only thing not believable is the love story how Grace know she loves him without knowing him personally (she knew the wolf).

Ok Maggie Stiefvaters writing was really good. The transition between POV were smooth. I have one thing to admit!! I only after like 150 pages in did I understand that the temperature at the beginning of each chapter due to change of temperature and the change. I know I'm sometimes slow. In the end I am yet again addicted to another series. I beg anyone who owns Linger (please, please let me borrow it, I can't wait). If you are looking for a good Paranormal Romance, and like Young Adult fiction then definitely pick this book up!! I adore the cover of this book (UK COVER that is). I will also only purchasing the UK cover to Linger as well. I like them, Let me know what cover you prefer?? (UK or US).

I Would Personally Rate this Novel:

5

Waiting On Wednesday (10) Linger By: Maggie Stiefvater

"Waiting On Wednesday" is a weekly meme, which is being hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine, that shows off the books that you have been pining for there release, and we can't wait any longer, so I use this meme to settle the addiction temporarily, until we are able to own the book. So Join in.

So this weeks "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

Linger By: Maggie Stiefvater

In Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. Now, inLinger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past...and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack. And Isabel, who already lost her brother to the wolves...and is nonetheless drawn to Cole. At turns harrowing and euphoric, Linger is a spellbinding love story that explores both sides of love--the light and the dark, the warm and the cold--in a way you will never forget.
 (Summary Thanks to  GoodReads)

Ohh I'm so so so excited for this one I would kill to get my hands on an ARC so owners beware!!
