Deception By: Lee Nichols

When Emma Vaile's parents leave on mysterious business trip, it gives her the perfect excuse to be a rebellious teen. Throw some parties, get a tattoo (or maybe just a piercing), and enjoy the first few weeks of her junior year. Then her best friend stops talking to her, the cops crash her party, and Emma finds herself in the hands of a new guardian—her college-age "knight in J.Crew armor," Bennett Stern—and on a plane to his museum-like mansion in New England.

After enrolling at Thatcher Academy, Emma settles in by making friends with the popular legacy crowd. But she can't shake the strange visions that are haunting her. She has memories of Thatcher she can't explain, as if she's returning home to a place she's never been. Emma doesn't trust anyone anymore—except maybe Bennett. But he's about to reveal a ghostly secret to Emma. One that will explain the visions . . . and make Emma fear for her life.

Lee Nichols was an author I adored when I was in my chick-lit obsession. Currently addicted to Young Adult fiction when I found out that Mrs. Nichols wrote a Paranormal YA. I was ecstatic but hesitant to read it, because going from chick-lit to Paranormal is tough for some authors, but to top it all off her first YA novel. So when I received this book I dived right in and let me tell you Lee Nichols Rocked the Paranormal YA I loved it. I honestly eat this book alive.

All the characters in this book are unique and are easy to love. At first I thought Emma was childish for her age, then she grows on you. Bennett is the mysterious hottie, and he get you addicted right when he's introduced in the book. Sara, Colby and Harry the trio of awesome friends even I wished I had. Nicholas, Anatole, and Celeste are another trio you would love to just have around especially to comfort you. Then there is Martha, lovely, lovely Martha a mother anyone could beg for. Martha comes with hugs, walks, teas and making Bennett talk (I adore Bennett). Last but not least Natalie who you love to hate.

This book was a page turner it totally captivates you within pages of reading. It had great chapter transition, awesome touches of mystery you never know what to expect. Honestly take it form me don't expect anything, don't think you know because I was dumbstruck by the way the book weaves. Go in with a closed mind and just Read!! Lee Nichols writing was good I think I adore it even more. I think the book cover was a nice choice, I approve (not that it matters). Sad to say this book does end with a cliffhanger which in a good way could mean another book, but until then I will keep guessing. (I have messaged Lee Nichols to find out if the'res any news for a sequel, I'll keep you updated).

I would Personally Rate this Novel:

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

·          Grab your current read

·         Open to a random page

·         Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they  like your teaser.

My Teasers:
"A mutilated woman. Shapes carved into her skin-- shapes that echoed the design of the jade amulet. And branded into the floor beside her body, an exact match to my mothers necklace."
