On My Wishlist (9)

On My Wishlist is a weekly meme hosted by Book Chick City, which will be posted every Saturday. It allows us to share the books we haven't bought yet but are dieing to buy and haunt us in our sleep. This wishlist it is a list of hope, and if you have the money then it is a shopping list! If you would like to take part and have your own 'On My Wishlist' post then you can find more info here. (This post was inspired by Kristi In My Mailbox at The Story Siren).

Once Dead Twice Shy by: Kim Harrison

My name is Madison Avery, and I'm here to tell you that there's more out there than you can see, hear, or touch. Because I'm there. Seeing it. Touching it. Living it.
Madison's prom was killer--literally. Now, thanks to a mysterious amulet, she's stuck on Earth: dead but not gone. She has no idea why the dark reaper who did her in was after her, but she's not about to just sit around and let fate take its course. With a little skilled light-bending, the help of a light reaper (one of the good guys . . . maybe), her cute crush, and oh yeah, her guardian angel, Madison's ready to take control of her own destiny once and for all, before it takes control of her.
Well, if she believed in that stuff. (This summary was thanks to Chapters Indigo.ca)

Prophecy of Sisters By: Michelle Zinks

An ancient prophecy divides two sisters-

One good...

One evil...

Who will prevail?

Twin sisters Lia and Alice Milthorpe have just become orphans. They have also become enemies. As they discover their roles in a prophecy that has turned generations of sisters against each other, the girls find themselves entangled in a mystery that involves a tattoo-like mark, their parents'' deaths, a boy, a book, and a lifetime of secrets.

Lia and Alice don''t know whom they can trust.
They just know they can''t trust each other.
(This summary was thanks to Chapters Indigo.Ca)

Kiss of Life By: Daniel Waters

The phenomenon that''s been sweeping the country seems to be here to stay. Not only are the teenagers who have come back from their graves still here, but newlydeads are being unearthed all the time. While scientists look for answers and politicians take their stands, the undead population of Oakville have banded together in a group they''re calling the Sons of Romero, hoping to find solidarity in segregation. Phoebe Kendall may be alive, but she feels just as lost and alone as her dead friends. Just when she reconciled herself to having feelings for a zombie -- her Homecoming date Tommy Williams -- her friend Adam is murdered taking a bullet that was meant for her. Things get even more confusing when Adam comes back from the grave. Now she has romantic interest in two dead boys; one who saved her life, and one she can''t seem to live without. (This summary was thanks to Chapters Indigo.ca)

Radiant Shadows By Melissa Marr

Hunger for nourishment.
Hunger for touch.
Hunger to belong.
Half-human and half-faery, Ani is driven by her hungers.
Those same appetites also attract powerful enemies and uncertain allies, including Devlin. He was created as an assassin and is brother to the faeries' coolly logical High Queen and to her chaotic twin, the embodiment of War. Devlin wants to keep Ani safe from his sisters, knowing that if he fails, he will be the instrument of Ani's death.

Ani isn't one to be guarded while others fight battles for her, though. She has the courage to protect herself and the ability to alter Devlin's plans-and his life. The two are drawn together, each with reason to fear the other and to fear for one another. But as they grow closer, a larger threat imperils the whole of Faerie. Will saving the faery realm mean losing each other?
(This summary was thanks to Goodreads)

Generation Dead By: Daniel Waters Review

Phoebe Kendall is just your typical Goth girl with a crush. He's strong and silent...and dead.
All over the country, a strange phenomenon is occurring. Some teenagers who die aren't staying dead. But when they come back to life, they are no longer the same. Feared and misunderstood, they are doing their best to blend into a society that doesn't want them.
The administration at Oakvale High attempts to be more welcoming of the "differently biotic." But the students don't want to take classes or eat in the cafeteria next to someone who isn't breathing. And there are no laws that exist to protect the "living impaired" from the people who want them to disappear--for good.
When Phoebe falls for Tommy Williams, the leader of the dead kids, no one can believe it; not her best friend, Margi, and especially not her neighbor, Adam, the star of the football team. Adam has feelings for Phoebe that run much deeper than just friendship; he would do anything for her. But what if protecting Tommy is the one thing that would make her happy?
(Summary Thanks to Goodreads)

For all you zombie fans, at first I didn't understand what you guys saw in these gray people who are aren't really dead or alive, who's speech and movent is slower then the average joe, but when reading novels about them I have had an open mind and guess what?? I'm like them don't love em but im starting to warm up to them. Yet another character of "like"s I'm adding to my paranormal list. (By the way if you guys have any recomendations on good zombie books let me know). So on to the book, Characters... I like Adam's character the jock who isn't your average jock because he's changed and doesn't date whatsherface anymore, but would do anything for Phoebee. Another one of my favorite characters is over dramatic Margi who is over the top in everything from emotions to looks (pink spikey hair can you blame her). The characters in Generation Dead are extreme and very weird, some fun to love, and others very easy to hate.
The general plot I must say is very unexpected I thought something completely different was going on, so for the first time don't expect the unexpected (focus on the task at hand). Ok the other problem I had with the book was the names I kept confusing people (not the main character but the others) for example I thought TC and Stavis were 2 different people not the same because the narrator in calls him Stavis and sometimes TC and Pete calls him by his last name!! Anyways other then that the book had me going from beginning til end! By this novel has a some what cliffhanger ending I still don't know how I feel on it.

Next the Cover totally dig it very eye catching and I'm guessing it's Karen or presume to be her. I liked this novel in a total package. I think Daniel Waters has a unique way of writing and I will definitely be buying Generation Dead Kiss of Life, and Passing Strange also seems totally cool and a Wishlist. So if you like Zombies, a Romeo and Juliet love story, and young adult paranormal fiction this is a good book to look into.

I Would Personally Rate this Book:555.5

P.S. hey guys before leaving don't forget to leave me some love, also and or a recommendation of good zombie books.

Waiting On Wednesday (7)

"Waiting On Wednesday" is a weekly meme, which is being hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine, that shows off the books that you have been pining for there release, and we can't wait any longer, so I use this meme to settle the addiction temporarily, until we are able to own the book. So Join in.

So this weeks "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

Passing Strange By: Daniel Waters

Karen DeSonne always passed as a normal (if pale) teenager; with her friends, with her family, and at school. Passing cost her the love of her life. And now that Karen’s dead, she’s still passing—this time, as alive. Karen DeSonne just happens to be an extremely human-like zombie. Meanwhile, Karen’s dead friends have been fingered in a high-profile murder, causing a new round of antizombie regulations that have forced them into hiding. Karen soon learns that the “murder” that destroyed their non-life was a hoax, staged by Pete Martinsburg and his bioist zealots. Obtaining enough evidence to expose the fraud and prove her friends’ innocence means doing the unthinkable: becoming Pete’s girlfriend. Karen’s only hope is that the enemy never realizes who she really is—because the consequences would be worse than death. (Summary Thanks to  GoodReads)

Super duper excited for this one yet I have not read Kiss of Life but this sounds cool. The thing I'm trying to figure out is Karen, Karen from Generation Dead 1 or is she new. The reason why is because Pete know Karen from GD#1 is a Zombie and since he isn't on team Zombie why would he want to date one... Right?? (Help if you know??) Totally dig the cover I think I understand the meaning behind it!!  If you haven't read number 1 then might want to get on that.

Check it out!! Let me know what you think!!

So whats on your WOW this week don't forget to leave me a link or you could even tell me in the comment box!!

Undead and Unappreciated By: Mary Janice Davidson Book Review

Most women would love to live as royalty, but Betsy has found that being vampire queen has more problems than perks, except for always being awake for Midnight Madness sales. It may be easy to find blood (yuck) in the dark of night, but try finding a strawberry smoothie. And employees at her nightclub, Scratch, have been giving her nothing but grief since she killed their former boss. Some people... But Betsy''s "life" takes an interesting turn at a baby shower for her wicked stepmother, who lets it slip that Betsy has a long-lost half sister. Now 20 years old, this woman just so happens to be the devil''s daughter ... and is destined to rule the world! (Summary Thanks to Chapters Indigo.ca)

What to say what to say... Mary Janice Davidson never sises to make me, laugh, cry, and get serious all in one book. This bundle of joy series is one to read it will have you on your toes wanting more. I would consider this book a paranormal romance more then anything there are some parts that are mysterious and full of suspense but in the end the book just head off in the same direction Betsy's Love life. If you don't know Betsy then you would love to. You are really missing out... I don't want to spoil the book for those who haven't yet to read the other installments in the Undead series. If you have not heard of the Undead series start by looking up Undead and Unwed by Mary Janice Davidson, I promise you will be intrigued this series is highly catchy. The character all unique and easy to relate to (other then the fictional aspect to such characters like vampires) even the not so good ones are kind of catchy even the Wicked Stepmother Ant. The storyline is well developed, so are the characters nothing feels rushed and also not to, to much information (to the point the books gets dry) this book did not have that at all. What I like about Mary Janice Davidson books are that they are long series, but the story and each book (so far) its still going on strong the book isn't laking, but it is setting up for success. Example the add of a new main character could seem crowded and maybe sketchy but Mrs. Davidson pulls it all together, the new character I speak of is Betsy stepsister who is so called out to rule the world. Overall the series is great and the books as well, but I can give the books all the praise, but there are some spaces and pause that could have not been in at all and for that the rating of the book lost one star.

*Heads up this is an adult fiction (not Young Adult, some explicit content)*

I Would Personally Rate this Book:   4

Happy Reading

Siren By: Tricia Rayburn

Seventeen-year-old Vanessa Sands is afraid of everything—the dark, heights, the ocean—but her fearless older sister, Justine, has always been there to coach her through every challenge. That is, until Justine goes cliff-diving one night near the family’s vacation house in Maine, and her lifeless body washes up on shore the next day.

Though her parents hope that they’ll be able to find closure back in Boston, Vanessa can’t help feeling that her sister’s death wasn’t an accident. After discovering that Justine was keeping a lot of secrets, Vanessa returns to Winter Harbor, hoping that Justine’s boyfriend might know more. But Caleb has been missing since Justine’s death.

Soon, it’s not just Vanessa who’s afraid. All of Winter Harbor is abuzz with anxiety when another body washes ashore, and panic sets in when the small town becomes host to a string of fatal, water-related accidents in which all the victims are found, horrifically, grinning from ear to ear.

Vanessa turns to Caleb’s brother, Simon, for help, and begins to find herself drawn to him. As the pair try to understand the sudden rash of creepy drownings, Vanessa uncovers a secret that threatens her new romance—and will change her life forever.
