On My Wish List (3)

[On+My+Wishlist.jpg]

On My Wishlist is a weekly meme hosted by Book Chick City, which will be posted every Saturday. It allows us to share the books we haven't bought yet but are dieing to buy and haunt us in our sleep. This wishlist it is a list of hope, and if you have the money then it is a shopping list! If you would like to take part and have your own 'On My Wishlist' post then you can find more info here. (This post was inspired by Kristi In My Mailbox at The Story Siren).

The Dark Divine- Bree Despain

Grace Divine, daughter of the local pastor, always knew something terrible happened the night Daniel Kalbi disappeared--the night she found her brother Jude collapsed on the porch, covered in his own blood--but she has no idea what a truly monstrous secret that night held.

The memories her family has tried to bury resurface when Daniel returns, three years later, and enrolls in Grace and Jude's high school. Despite promising Jude she'll stay away, Grace cannot deny her attraction to Daniel's shocking artistic abilities, his way of getting her to look at the world from new angles, and the strange, hungry glint in his eyes.

The closer Grace gets to Daniel, the more she jeopardizes her life, as her actions stir resentment in Jude and drive him to embrace the ancient evil Daniel unleashed that horrific night. Grace must discover the truth behind the boy's dark secret...and the cure that can save the ones she loves. But she may have to lay down the ultimate sacrifice to do it--her soul. Dark Divine I've heard a lot of great reviews for this book and it's actually been on my wishlist forever and I have yet to purchase it!! This book sounds like a must read the description is so captivating like every time I read it i feel like I need to buy it!!

Old Magic- Marianne Curley
Jarrod Thornton is mesmerizing,
but Kate Warren doesn't know why.
The moment the new guy walks into the room, Kate senses something strange and intense about him. Something supernatural. Her instincts are proven correct a few minutes later when, bullied by his classmates, Jarrod unknowingly conjures up a freak thunderstorm "inside" their classroom.
Jarrod doesn't believe in the paranormal. When Kate tries to convince him that he has extraordinary powers that need to be harnessed, he only puts up with her "hocus pocus" notions because he finds her captivating. However, the dangerous, uncontrolled strengthening of his gift finally convinces Jarrod that he must take Kate's theories seriously. Together, they embark on a remarkable journey -- one which will unravel the mystery that has haunted Jarrod's family for generations and pit the teens against immense forces in a battle to undo the past and reshape the future.

Don't you just love cover, it's the first thing I noticed. This is yet another book cover Canada does not carry. This author is suppose to be fabulous. I've hear a lot of good things on this series and the Study series. So I'm looking int to getting this book soon.

Once a Witch- Carolyn Mac Cullough

"Your daughter will be one of the most powerful we have ever seen in this family. She will be a beacon for us all."
Tamsin Greene comes from a long line of witches, and on the day she was born, her grandmother proclaimed she would be one of the most Talented among them. Which makes it all the more difficult that Tamsin''s magic never arrrived.

Now, seventeen years later, she avoids her family as much as possible, spending most of the year at a boarding school in Manhattan, where she can at least pretend to be normal. But her summers are spent at home, working at her family''s book store/magic shop in upstate New York. One night at the end of the summer, just before her return to school, a handsome professor from New York University arrives in the shop and mistakes Tamsin for her extremely Talented older sister, Rowena. For once, it''s Tamsin who''s being looked at with awe and admiration, and before she can stop herself, she agrees to find a family heirloom for him that was lost more than a century ago. But the search--and the stranger-prove to be more sinister than they''d appeared, ultimately sending Tamsin on a treasure hunt through time that will unlock the truth about her Talent, unearth the past sins of her family, and unleash a power so strong and so vengeful that it could destroy them all. (This book summary is from Amazon.ca)

This yet another book I've heard some great thing about. I told you it must be something in the air another book on witches. This store sounds super cool. I can't wait to get my hands on this one as well!!

Shutter Island- Dennis Lehane

The year is 1954. U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels and his new partner, Chuck Aule, have come to Shutter Island, home of Ashecliffe Hospital for the Criminally Insane, to investigate the disappearance of a patient. Multiple-murderess Rachel Solando is loose somewhere on this barren island, despite having been kept in a locked cell under constant surveillance. As a killer hurricane bears relentlessly down on them, a strange case takes on even darker, more sinister shades-with hints of radical experimentation, horrifying surgeries, and lethal countermoves made in the cause of a covert shadow war. No one is going to escape Shutter Island unscathed, because nothing at Ashecliffe Hospital is remotely what it seems. (This book summary is from Chapters Indigo Books)

Please tell me you have seen the preview to this book that is now a feature presentation click here for a YouTube trailer. I usually am not a fan of books like this, but after seeing the preview i totally looked up the book. I can't wait to read and see the movie!! The story sounds awesome, but it also helps that when I think of Teddy Daniels I can now picture Leonardo DiCaprio it doesn't hurt at all lol.

This is what is on my wishlist!! Whats on yours leave a comment with either the link or your actually list!! Also let me know what you think of my Wishlist, and the books on it.

Thanks for Stopping By and Happy Reading Guys!!

I have got Dark Divine and Storm Glass on my TBR list. The rest of your wishlist looks really good too!

You have some good books on your wishlist. I really liked both The Dark Divine and Storm Glass. I have also read Once a Witch. It was OK but not as memorable as the other two. And I have Old Magic waiting for me on my Kindle when I find the time to read it. Shutter Island sounds like a "read with the lights on" book.

I hope these books soon move from your wishlist to your TBR pile. Happy reading!

All those look good with the exception of Shutter Island. I know that it is a big thing now, but it seems to be more Horror thant Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance. Therefore, I might never read it. Here's Mine
