It as winter break at St. Vladimiras, but Rose is feeling anything but festive. A massive Strigoi attack has put the school on high alert, and now the Academyas crawling with Guardiansaincluding Roseas hard-hitting mother, Janine Hathaway. And if hand to- hand combat with her mom wasn't bad enough, Roseas tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Masonas got a huge crush on her, and Rose keeps getting stuck in Lissaas head while sheas making out with her boyfriend, Christian! The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academyas not taking any risks. This year, St. Vladas annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.
But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only create the illusion of safety. When three friends run away in an offensive move against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. But heroism rarely comes without a price. (Summary thanks to Chapters Indigo.ca)
Strigoi trouble at St. Vladimir School calling a Red Alert which has St. Vlads running with Guardians even Rose's mother which is not Rose's favorite person. I love the touch of how Mason likes Rose I knew it from VA and now their is Tasha, Christians cousin who Dimitri's interested in. The problem is Rose likes Dimitri (who even I have a crush on) and he won't show her his soft side only the cold hard Guardian he is trained to be. Then there is Mr. trouble maker!! (Can you tell how important he is that I forgot his name while writing this review, and my neighbor is borrowing this one from me, so I can look it up). I like how all the Characters mature from book to book. This was a book I could not put down. This book has it's moments there were times I could feel tears come to my eyes and then happy laughing moments, then outraged at certain situations. Rose also learns a lot about Dhampire that you need technique to fight not a hot head. All in all this was an action packed series that is not a new fave and a must read especially if you enjoy Vampires with a twist and a bit of extras. The storyline is well developed and the descriptions were awesome. I adore the covers in this series I'm Guessing its Christian and Lissa. If you haven't read Vampire Academy then get to it ASAP. Ok so I can't wait to read Shadow Kiss, Please Dimitri give in to Rose I want a happy ending, but I'm dreaming I know.
